As part of the ACM MMSys conference in University of Massachusetts Amherst Campus, the\u00a0International Workshop on I<b>M<\/b>mersive <b>M<\/b>ixed and <b>V<\/b>irtual <b>E<\/b>nvironment Systems,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mmve-workshop.org\">MMVE 2019<\/a> is celebrating its 11th edition.<\/p>\n<p>The paper, <strong><em>Fusion Confusion: Exploring Ambisonic Spatial Localisation for Audio-Visual Immersion Using the McGurk Effect,\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>looked at the relationship between visual cues and spatial localisation for speech sounds.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_421\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/McGurk_effect\">McGurk Effect<\/a>, where visual cues for sounds override what you hear, occurs for spatial audio but is not sensitive to whether the speech sound is aligned in space with the lips of the speaker.<\/p>\n<p>The research, carried out by QxLab&#8217;s\u00a0UCD based researchers and funded by two SFI centre&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/connectcentre.ie\/\">CONNECT<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/insight-centre.org\/\">INSIGHT<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Well done to AbuBakr, the presentation and demo were well received by the
